Cancel Culture

What does it mean to get "cancelled?" What started as a way of collectively demanding greater accountability from public figures has arguably devolved (in some instances, not all) into mob-mentality attacks on peoples' reputations and livelihoods. Where is the line drawn between pushing for moral justice and actively stifling an environment that allows for open debate?
